  • On December 28, 2008, Marvin Harrison moved into second place for most receptions all time, trailing only Jerry Rice.

LOL. Losing Plaxico, the Giants should LEARN and NOT go after Marvin Harrison. So the Giants want to replace a Plaxico Burress with a player that has JUST as many problems off the field? LOL. As a Colts, fan, it's bittersweet to see him go. I do think however that the Giants would be foolish to at least not factor in that the only difference between Marvin and Plaxico (outside of basic numbers) is that Marvin's gun didn't shoot Marvin himself. LOL

Giants won't entertain the thought . . they know the name of the game is speed now and I still say Plaxico will be back!

Yeah....you keep believe that one....LOL! Yeah EVERYONE is saying the right things, but once the legal is done with him....and survives THAT, then it's Goodell's turn to have his crack at him....and he takes no prisoners for the history that Burress has.

But Tom Coughlin, the head coach, has not. And Coughlin’s lack of communication may say the most about the future of Burress, whose season ended in November after he shot himself in the leg at a Midtown nightclub and was charged with two firearms violations.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/21/sports/football/21giants.html?ref=sports

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — General manager Jerry Reese wants Plaxico Burress to wear a New York Giants uniform next season. He's just not sure it will happen.

Reese, who attended the NFL's annual scouting combine Saturday, said he's planning for all scenarios, including keeping the suspended wide receiver who shot himself in the leg at a nightclub last season.

"I hope he's motivated, but the legal process is what's most important right now and his health is what's most important right now," Reese said. "But we'll prepare as if he's not going to be here, and if he is, it's a bonus."

Burress faces felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon relating to the shooting, which could result in a prison sentence of 3 1/2 to 15 years if he's convicted.

The Associated Press: Giants GM not counting on return of Burress

The Giants would absolute retarded not to look at Harrison.

I think he is past his prime. Ever since his injury he has gone down hill. I don't see him last to much longer in the league.

i think most of us know he's not exactly what he used to be but he's still much better than for example what the fins have and what the eagles have. ;)

Heck the Bengals should get him, but that ain't going to happen.

Although this is not a done deal yet, (the Colts and Harrison are meeting this afternoon and a news conference will be held soon), it appears that Harrison is indeed on his way out....truly a sad day in Colts history!!!...:(

I'll never forget the catch and touchdown he had on a Monday night game against the Steelers a few years ago. I was on the sidelines and when he ran out of the end zone after scoring, he almost ran me down. ABC made a promo for MFL using that play, and if you slowed it down and advanced it frame by frame, you could barely make me out hugging the sideline barrier trying not to become "Harrison Pizza"!!!...;)

I won't miss Manning to Harrison time after time against my Patriots! I still think he has 2 years left-he's slower but still surehanded. A class player!
