I have a 39 inch KU dish with a linear LNB. I am trying to get Mood Music. I am looking for a receiver capable of exporting/importing channel lists to a computer to be able to add PIDs and channels. Is this a capability of most modern receivers? Is the channel editing software proprietary, or can you use any?

Additionally, I was looking at the GTMEDIA V8 Finder 2 as a potential option… does anyone know if this would be viable for me?

Any input would be appreciated!

Thank you.

When it comes to editing channel lists, as far as I'm concerned, nothing beats an Enigma2 receiver like VU+, Edision, Dreambox, and many others in combination with software like E-Channelizer.

For GTMEDIA receivers, try this software: GitHub - nikkpap/The_Channelizer: The_Channelizer
Download executable here: The_Channelizer/Compiled at main · nikkpap/The_Channelizer

As an alternative to a satellite finder, you can also use an old receiver to align a satellite dish in the yard, but on a roof, a compact finder is a bit easier.
However, I wouldn't use a satellite finder as a substitute for a receiver to watch TV or listen to the radio.
