don't know if anyone has had this problem. i purchased a Hauppage PVR 350 TV card for my computer. i installed it and connected the cable to the computer. however, i only receive the basic expanded channels up to channel 78. i'm not receiving any of the digital channels that i receive in my living room. the only difference is i have a comcast digital cable box connected to the TV in the living room but not to the computer.

does anyone know how i can receive digital stations on my TV card?

It's not designed to tune digital TV. You should have bought the WinTV-D or WinTV-HD for digital and analog tuning. Although, I don't believe those have PVR capabilities.

The WinTV-D DOES NOT receive digital CABLE channels, only digital ATSC OTA signals as well as regular analog cable channels. The WinTV-HD does receive "IN THE CLEAR" unencrypted QAM cable channels but they do not receive encrypted cable channels - which as you know, almost ALL digital channels are encrypted.

As far as I know, there is no current card that supports ENCRYPTED digital cable channels. So those cards are a huge investment to see "if" you have 2, 3 or 4 unencrypted digital channels. If you do, it is usually some of the music channels, local stations and "maybe" a regular digital channel or two (not premiums) but not worth 100s of $. It would be better to rent an additional STB from the cable co. and send it thru the box to the computer. You can then set the card to record on channel 3 and set a record timer for the box to switch to whatever channel you wish to record (if you need record options).

None of then would recieve unencryptd QAM in USA. Your only option to receive 'in the clear' QAM in USA to use MyHD MDP 130 or Fusion 5 cards
