Comcast moves channels off analog in Minneapolis

How can they get away with all that? Doesn't the City/County Government have the leash pulled? AMC is a pretty big channel on cable these days.

The DigiPic is a Time Warner brand. That area has not been converted to Comcast products yet.

Standard Cable is $48.50 and Basic Lifeline Cable is $9.52. The DVR is $9.95 as is the HD-DVR. The normal HD box is $5 and it includes the HD channels except the premiums.

Like I said in my previous post my ONE HD/DVR box is the Moto 6412. So, for one box and HD channels, Comcast is currently gouging me for $24/month. .

Something is wrong with that picture. I realize that Comcast's prices differ by area. But, I can't belive it differs by as much as $14 between your Comcast market and mine. ($10 vs. $24 for a single HD DVR)

Wait so if you want HD on a TV and another one with a HD/DVR, the charge is $5.00 + $9.95 + $6.95 = $21.90 for two HD TVs?

No. the other unit will either be $5.00 + $6.95 = $11.95, or $6.95 + $9.95 = $16.90 for DVR.

$6.95 is an additional digital outlet fee. $5.00 is for an HD box and $9.95 is for the HD DVR box.

I have Comcast in Derry, NH which is considered part of the Boston Comcast system and this is the pricing for HD DVR boxes below. Also keep in mind that Comcast here hasn't increased the prices for HD DVR boxes. Now I have the triple play bundle but this doesn't discount the HD DVRs. Now any digital cable package includes the rental for "one" digital box. This fee is 4.75 including the 25 cent remote.

So I still must pay the DVR Service fee of 9.95/month for that first HD DVR box.

So now my second HD DVR box costs me an extra 17.45/month and they break it down as follows.

4.50 = HD DVR Box rental fee.
.25 = HD DVR remote fee.
9.95 = HD DVR Service fee.
2.75 = Service Plus fee.

Now everything I understand except for the Service Plus fee because honestly what in the world is that fee because I swear somebody just made that fee up just to charge an extra 2.75/month.

Either way the final price for everything I order is what I care about and not the specific product prices. So as long as I can get everything I want and get what is a fair price in my mind I could care less if the HD DVR is overpriced. Now my point of view is that my pricing above is quite fair as I do have a clue what these boxes cost but I won't deny that if some of the pricing shown in this thread is true I'd say that might be taking the pricing a little too far IMO.

Just remember we do have to consider what we pay based on the fact that we have no upfront cost and we never have to pay extra to fix or replace a broken box. Sorry but I paid way too much upfront money replacing just one HD Tivo from DirecTV that I swore I'd never buy again ever. I'm not defending the price increase I'm just forcing you to think of the whole package is all.

Comcast does not have a SD DVR, it's HD or nothing. I have HD service and the 6412 HD DVR. It costs $9.95 a month. My daughter has SD service and pays $9.95 a month for a DVR. It's also a 6412.

Some areas to have the new Panasonic SD DVR available, but its not wide-spread yet unfortunately.

I moved into this house last summer and Comcast was my only option because DISH Installers were booked for months.

Price is my only qualm with Comcast in Tallahassee though.

Uverse is supposed to be in our neighbourhood in March. It's already in parts of the South Bay. I was sitting in a Toxic Bell the other day and 2 guys were talking about it. One said he just got it hooked up and like all the HD channels he got and fired ComCrap.

That's really f-ed up. I agree a sub shouldn't pay the HD fee for another TV, $5.00 + $6.95 for another HD TV, damn.

Since they're moving everything to digital, you need the digital box for $6.95 if you want to watch say Natl. Geographics on another TV in the house. Although like you said, D* and E* are doing the same thing. It's $6.00 with E* for an HD receiver and $5.98 for the DVR fee. We're taking it in the shorts with any provider.

Comcast service sucks here in Tally as well. My broadband wiring is STILL not inside a box and it's been two years.

I don't use Comcast for anything other than TV. I use EMBARQ DSL for my internet connection. $24.95 for 1.5MB is perfect for me.

BTW, I would call Comcast and complain that you think rats or some animal is trying to eat the cable and I would expect them to come out fairly soon. My stuff is in a box for that reason.
