Comcast running fiber?

Comcast had crews running new lines down the street on their infrastructure. Could they be rolling out fiber to compete?
About time if true.

Charter is another that has waited too long.

I get constant calls to return to them ( I switched to fiber), but always at the same speed ( gigabit down, slow up speed) and a price which is more than what I am currently paying.

I'd wonder what they would price their fiber at if they were ever to offer it. Frontier and GoNetSpeed are undercutting them.

They could just be adding more nodes. You can get a lot of data over coax, if you keep the runs short and the number of amplifiers to a minimum.

Our daughter and her husband live in a very rural area of a neighboring county. There was no cable TV or high-speed internet available in their area. Neither Spectrum nor AT&T had service in their area. Several months ago Spectrum ran fiber down the entire length of the road they live on. My daughter said she thinks everyone who lives in the neighborhood signed up. She didn't say how much it costs but everyone is happy it's now available because they no longer have to rely on the unreliable cell service or Hughesnet (if you want to call that high speed).
