Computer lagging with Iphone!

Hello everyone,

First of all I have the latest Iphone 8GB 3G and the software is up to date with the latest firmware.

Whenever I connect my Iphone through the USB cable to my pc, my computer occasionally freezes up for 3-5 seconds..not sure what to do to fix this issue.
I've been looking for this all over the web, but no help at all.
Whenever the Iphone is not attached, no issues.
It seems like it makes my cpu usage spike when it lags like that.

I'd start with opening up the task manager and see which process, if any, is throttling the CPU during those spikes.

Itunes starting up causes a similar lag on my system, whether or not the iphone is attached. So it could be itunes.
