Congress Bill 4067

Dish is really pushing this bill. They want off the hook. Does anyone know if congress has picked up on the bill this session. It is a short one and I doubt if it will fly. I qualify for the dns. Called direct and they also confirmed I am. Problem is the lease comment and I buy my packages yearly. I stand to lose a lot of money switching. My choices are NPS and who knows what will happen there, or the roof antenna which, if I would enjoy snow more than a picture would be a good Ideal. So that leaves 4067 the best option. I have the 625 and I love it. Sometimes maybe more than my wife. Oh well that is another forum. So I really want to keep dish. I am really up set with dish because all I did was be a customer for 6 years and they screwed me. However if I can get dns on the 625 it is worth the screw.

The main question right now is if you can get locals through Dish Network. S.4067 does not help in that regard; if locals are available you cannot get distant networks if S.4067 passes.

no I can not get locals or anything I am so far in the country i have to use horse and buggy to get anywhere.

What it does allow is SV for those who have locals in their area and also allows distants to fill in the gaps for those in areas with locals on satellite with "missing" networks.

There is also an S.4068, introduced by John Sununu (R-NH), which only restores the significantly-viewed provision.

As stated by ABC News today, this has been the most do nothing Congress since 1948.

They have not passed the needed ethic reform, immigration reform and only 2 of the 12 finance bills that must be passed this term.

And you think they will take this up?

Contact your Congressional Delegation and tell them you support S.4067 S.4068 and only to allow Dish to be allowed to sell service if they pay a fine to the US Government for very cent collected from DNS subs over the years they offered DNS illegally and profited - using it to reduce the Federal debt.

I kind of got the idea both "D" & "E" were stalling uplinking already qualified SV and / or perusing qualification of other possible SV. Probably not enough money in it and since it is voluntary......
