Connected to the Net

I just got Directv it says I'm not connected at all. I do have wireless. Not sure if I'm missing anything at all a adapter or not? If I'm missing any programing or extra features. I have Dish too but I have a homeplug plugged in so it picks on the signal.

the only thing the internet is for is the VOD which if you have a good internet connection rocks...but you need to connect it
