:D I am upgrading from a LN3 dish to a SlimLine LN5 dish and a DIRECTV Plus HD DVR. I have installed the new SlimLine Ka/Ku LNB dish and am following "DIRECTV SlimLine Multi-Satellite Dish Antenna" directions from the internet. I have a simple question regarding hooking up the 3 existing cables from the old dish to the new dish as described below.

Step 8 on page 8 of the instructions shows a diagram subtitled, "Hooking up cables to the LNB and attaching the LNB to Antenna - up to four cables can be connected this way." It shows a single cable hooked up to the far left of the LNB (the LNB is facing us) and two cables hooked up to the far right (again, LNB is facing us), leaving the #2 connection (with #1 on the far left and #4 on the far right) open. Comparing the connection to the old LN3 dish, this connection is reversed (the single cable was connected on the far right and the double cable was connected to the left of the single line).

Is this right? !sadroll And, is there any need to tell which cable is which? What is the open connection, or the fourth connection available for? The caption states that up to four cables can be connected but does not specify or discuss what the extra connection might be for.

I purchased an AcuTrac 22 Pro signal level meter and plan on following instructions 9 through 9A and 9B, unless some one knows a better, less tedious method.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. It is always appreciated. :hatsoff:

Personally, I would run all four down from the LNB to the ground block and go from there to your recvrs.
That said, it you do not have 4 recvrs it really doesn't matter, you can get by with i line ran for each recvr, doesn't matter which connections on the LNB itself.
