Could adding a DP34 switch be a BAD thing?

My recent installation included a Dish 500 with two cables running to my 522 receiver. To get all my local channels, DN is sending another tech to install a second dish and a DP34 switch free of charge. In this new configuration, am I still going to have two cables carrying indipendent signals to my 522? Or will the switch eliminate the second cable? Or will it send identical data down both cables?

The most important question is: Could this have an effect on my picture quality, or any other aspect of my Dish experience?

The switch allows you to have 3 satellite inputs and allow up to 4 outputs

There will be 2 lines running into the 522. The switch allows you to see 3 satellite spots (110, 119 and whatever your other locals are on)

To complete the answer, your existing setup has a switch - it's built into the LNBF so you don't see it.

And you will see absolutely no difference in PQ - remember the signal is 100% digital from the uplink to your receiver.
