I got official word yesterday that starting in November the company will begin the notification process of the analog cut off. This will be a full encryption so quam tuners won't work. You will need a digital box to view all signals. Much like what Comcast did offering boxes, Cox will do the same. The cut off of analog is supposed to take place in early 2015. This will allow for more HD and higher internet speeds.

Makes sense for the cable company since they can fit 4 HD channels in the space that a single analog channel takes. Not to mention the need to reclaim space to increase cable modem speed.
