D* dish with a 311?????

Trying to set up a Deer Camp with older hardware. We have a 3 LNB D* dish that was given to us and I want to hook a 311 to it. Tried to get the 311 hooked to a old D* single LNB and never could find the birds.

Will it work?

Working on a shoestring, trying to watch football...........

No, they are diffrent systems, your 311 is a DishPro.

They aren't compatiable.

I hooked my 811 to a phase III as I had my Lnb go out on my Dish 1000 while hunting... I could get 110 with it...

A single LNB D* dish should work, but will only give you one sat.

I have not replaced the old single with the three yet. Would a 311 work with the old D* dish?

Cover by foil 110 and 119 LNBFs ( forget about using more then one sat in the config) and use 101 LNBF; what sat you'll select up to you - just check tables where are your channels before aiming.

When you say 3 LNB is it a Direct lnb or dish lnb? is it a dish 1000 with 3 seperate lnb's or a direct lnb?

Direct has a lnb that looks just like a 1000.2 lnb.

Yes a dirctv dish will work with a dish 311. Its all legacy stuff it will work fine. If you have a single 18" Directv dish you just need aim it at what ever sat the game is on. If you have the 3LNB directv dish cover the 110 and 119 eyes as another has said with tin foil or something and no skew or tilt as D* calls it and move it till you hit it. With no knowledge of sat installs or meter it can be tricky but it will work.
