Radar, with satellite it won't make a difference what speed package you choose, the speed you feel when browsing will always feel the same. The only difference with a higher package is download speeds once you start a download. I always tell people, if they aren't doing any downloading (which is severely clamped on satellite anyway) just pick one of the lower packages. 1meg or 5 megs won't feel any different for the average browsing. Approx 600-700 milliseconds latency round trip time on satellite always feels the same, no getting around that.

I know, Jaray...

It was the downloading (and uploading) of files and videos and such that was the hindrance for me. Not simple browsing. Recently, I signed up with Netflix and I might try the higher rate package once again for a little while to see if it helps. The slowest package doesn't work well for the streaming video downloads. I don't know if the upgraded version will help, but I might try it once more.

Nothing new here. Kids new braces ($6k) and other hefty bills, got in way of any upgrade plans.
I'm hanging on with my ancient CS5000 receivers sprinkled around the house.

All I got was a pair of Levis 501s and they don't receive Ku band signals very well.
