Digital Breakup on 101 C Band

I just tested the Amiko Mini HD SE again today and also tried the Amiko A3. No signal at all for Decades, H&I or Movies! on the Amiko Mini HD SE. Jumping quickly from 0 Q to 16 Q and back on the A3, not lockable. Both getting MeTV but break up is pretty bad. :(

Crazy, so it works on the X2 but not the others...

It appears so. Although not perfect reception, the channels are receivable on my X2 M1HD and, as others have said, the X2 Premium Mini) but not on many of the other popular receivers we hobbyists use. I don't know why but I sure hope someone figures it out...

I can confirm that the channels are not currently playing on the X2 Premium Version II (Novatek chipset). With the HDVR1200, DJ1997 and X2 Premium all not even tuning the channels, safe to say that the Novatek chipsets are having problems. With the microHD, Linkbox and Amiko mini HD SE, the ALI chipsets trying to lock (only randomly), they are also having problems with these transponders. The K1+ is not locking onto the transponders. Have several HiSilicon chipset based STBs and they are playing fine.

Do you know which chipset is in the X2 Premium Mini and X2 M1HD? If so, are there any other boxes with that chipset?

It was posted that the M1HD has a National Chip GX6601. I have no exposure with these chips as they are a new company targeting the Chinese national market with low cost SOC solutions. As far as I can tell, the chipsets have only been used on import STBs. I see some GX6601 chipset STBs listed on AliExpress.

Thanks Titanium, I didn't see that post. :)

Here are some observations I've made of SES-1 @101.0W over the past several days.

My main C-band setup:

8 ft. steel dish (9-section dish from Sadoun)
Chaparral Dual C-Band Feed # 11-1329-1
Chaparral 20K #11-7250-1 C-Band LNB’s feeding a powered WNC SWA-48 switch modified to provide 18V to both polarities.

Date/Time, TP, SatHero SH-200 C/N

06/03 15:00 3724 V 10000 9.60
3953 V 2734 14.55
3957 V 2734 15.60
3961 V 2734 15.75
3973 V 5924 13.05

06/05 21:45 3724 V 10000 8.70
3953 V 2734 14.40
3957 V 2734 15.60
3961 V 2734 15.30
3973 V 5924 13.05

06/06 14:55 3724 V 10000 8.85
3953 V 2734 13.95
3957 V 2734 15.60
3961 V 2734 15.45
3973 V 5924 13.05

These readings are very stable on the SH-200 with almost no fluctuation after they settle down.

The Amiko A3 and A3 Combo lock and play all the channels but the “problem” TP’s (3953, 3957, and 3961) exhibit some
breakup then signal loss. After a second or two the channel locks again and the cycle repeats. The quality displayed by the receivers is stable, in the 70's on the original A3 and in the 80's on the Combo, only changing by a couple of points when the channels are lost and then returning to the previous values.

The Amiko Nano HD plays MeTV and MeTV HD without problem but doesn’t even scan in any channels on the 3953, 3957, or 3961 TPs. The quality displayed by the Nano continually flashes from about 75 to 0 to 75.

Just thought I'd share this information.

Took time to hook up my new CHEAP receiver to test Movies, Decades and Heroes. It doesn't do Dolby, so have to just assume that audio is fine. But, it has been playing for several minutes now without a hiccup. Not real entertaining without any audio, but does point to chipset/software issue.

Documents that came with the $29.25 receiver says it uses a NVT78304SE CPU.

At 1520 Mountain Time, all three are back on the Amiko A3. About an hour earlier, it was only Movies and Decades back, with Heroes still acting up. Any how, it looks like for now the issue is gone.

Hopefully, this is a permanent fix and they remain FTA.

Great news - but quite a mystery what caused it to work on only certain receivers/chipsets

All are playing fine here too.

I don't know what it was but I had never had a problem getting those channels on any of my receivers before. Something in the stream had to have changed for so many people in different areas, with different receivers and dish sizes, to suddenly begin having problems where none had existed before.

I'm just glad it seems to be fixed and hope it stays that way.

I did not realize we had two threads on the subject but yes they are working again here too.
Heroes still had the 0% Q glitch from time to time last night but Decades and Movies were perfect.
