Has anybody ever tried to hook up your cable feed into a 622 and then scan for your Digital locals that the cable feed provides? I know TW, in my area, broadcasts digital locals and by hooking them up to my HDTV w/ digital tuner I can pull them in. I don't need to have the TW box to see them.

Just wondering if this is possible with a DN receiver.

That won't work on Dish receivers. There is no QAM tuner in the 622/722/211 receiver that can decode digital signals. The only digital you'll get via the OTA connector is ATSC. If you look at the specs on your TV, you'll see it has an integrated QAM tuner.

It will not work, the 622 does not have a QAM tuner which is what is needed to read digital cable signal. The last Dish receiver with a QAM tuner was the 811. Also note: OTA means Over The Air (the broadcast of local channels to the old style roof top antennas).

Whew....for a minute, thought that I wasn't going to find the weekly "can I hook my cable coax up to the 722" question. Now all is right with the world.
