Just a reminder that DVE will be released on 3/25. Amazon is now taking pre-orders.

It's less than $20 and qualifies for Prime. FWIW, it appears they will also release the HD DVD version on that date (updated version over previous release).

Now is the time to get it on order if you haven't already. I used the DVD version and it's quite thorough. Well worth the time and effort.

How user friendly and thorough is DVE compared to Avia? I have the latter for DVD and didn't feel it explained what you needed to do with the patterns well enough.

I hope its improved. My big issue with the old Avia is that many of thes tests are no good for new tv's. I hope they come out with some better contrast and sharpness testing.

I got the HD DVD one last year. It was WAY over my head. 96 page instructions (are you kidding me?). Sold it with my HD DVD collection. I've used the callibration that comes on the Rattatille Blu-ray. Much eaiser, but probably no as good.

Much cheaper than paying for professional calibration, though.
