I understand that I can use the Directv dish with the Pre Paid Dish Now. But I would like to know if I can also use the same Directv dish dual LNBs? I had a response from Sadoun saying the use of the dish is ok but he didn't address the dual LNBs. At the time, I thought I had a single LNB and maybe I just did not understand. I know that with a single you can only pick up one satellite. I am just trying to avoid having to buy another dish. Thanks

An 18" Directv dish can be used for picking up one DISH Network satellite only. To clarify your terminology a SINGLE LNB has only one "F" fitting to connect 1 receiver a DUAL LNB has 2 "F" fittings to connect 2 or more satellite receivers to the dish. A dual LNB has nothing to do with seeing more than 1 satellite location. A DISH Network TWIN is 2 LNBs built into one housing with a switch to selects which of the two satellites is selected by the receiver. A DISH 500 is designed to see both the 110 & 119 satellite locations and when combined with a TWIN can switch between the 2 locations.

Thanks Boba. I think I understand. Can I mount one of these switches on the dual LNBs I have? Or is it going to be better to just spring for the dish 500? I am limited on the storage space and the 18" fits nicely. I do not know the dimensions of the 500. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks again

Are you saying your dish has
1- Two "separate" LNBFs side by side?
2- Two LNBFs but attached together? or
3- One LNBF that has 2 outputs?

If #1 is the case, then you can use a switch like this one:
VI 35-SW21X 2-in-1 Multi-Dish Switch

to hookup but LNBFs to one receiver. You will need to do a "check switch" in the receiver's setup menu, when you install the switch.
