I had OLD D* receivers for so long, upgraded to newer ones and now I see they are adding channels almost daily to my "Custom" list on my Hughes HD Receiver. Customer Service told me it was "new channels and special offers they don't want me to miss". I call it "The Gem Shopping Network, PPV Junk, Soft Porn PPV, Info-Mercial Garbage" rammed down my throat daily.

Has anyone else complained to them about this?

Does Dish Network do this?

I am seriously considering changing, wish there were more than two choices out there. Have loved D* for so long and now with the leasing and the channel list altering daily, I am starting to hate them.

It may be in your programming guide but nobody is forcing you to watch it just be like the rest of us and ignore the channels you don't want to watch. You can setup a favorite channel list for just the channels you want.

The problem with the older HD receivers is that if a channel stops broacasting and then starts back up, the receiver will see it as a new channel and put it in all of the favorite lists. This has been going on for a long time. Edit: This also happens on some of the older SD receivers.

It happened with my LG3200, but not my new H20.

I would absolutely call this issue grounds to take his business elsewhere! The nerve of those D* guys making him watch that stuff! I say he should quit now and go to E* or maybe just get a set of rabbit ears!

As far as I know, all D* receivers will display a "newly available" channel when it comes up, no matter what your custom list said before. For instance, when TNT HD became available last month, the channel just "appeared" on my list.

If you do not want the channels, delete them-it's no big deal, and they are not charging you for them, are they?

My receivers do not upload all the channels when they are rebooted-my channel choices stay the same-so they are not forcing anything on you, really.

Happy Camper is correct -- the problem is that these channels are not aired all the time -- so they go "off" and vanish from all guides, and when they're reactivated, all the receivers think it's a new channel.

I have the services too, unfortunatly I can't get cable here. :( I wish IPTV over C Band would come now instead of 2007. :)

TNT-HD did not appear in either of my H20's favorite channel lists. I had to manually add it to my favorites.

I really hate these posters that make 1 post and the thread goes on for several pages but the starter never posts again.
