I am considering switching to Directv from Cable. I only have one cable run to each tv. I know that Directv requires two runs for the dual tuner receivers. I would need two hd-dvrs, one hd reciever, and one sd receiver.

Will the tech run the extra wires as part of the installation or would that be an extra cost?

Also is it possible to send the signal from one of the hd-dvrs to another television, like with the VIP-622 for Dish?

Thank you.

Yes, they should run the extra cable as part of the installation...unless you want something special done with it (like wall fishing).

It is possible to send the output of the receivers to multiple TV's, but unlike with Dish, the TV's will always be watching the same programs.

DirecTV rocks

Go for DirecTV.

Other than the picture and sound quality, you will also find channels that are not offered by local cable operators. In my case it is NDTV 24x7, an Indian news channel. I am kind of addicted to the channel.
