I didn't know where to post this, because it is sort of a DirecTV \ FTA question.

I saw Blonder Tongue offers professional rack mount DirecTV receivers that are often available on EBay. Would these pick up any ITC special interest channels that a consumer receiver would simply give you an access denied message?

Plus since they only output one channel would it be possible to subscribe to only 1DirecTV channel?

Does anyone own one of these receivers?

Nothing is ITC on Direct except a few channel listing and PPV preview channels. You can get them by using any receiver with a good card.

As far as the commercial receiver, I would call Direct Tv and ask for there commercial department. They should be able to answer your questions. I think that if Direct let you sub to one channel they would charge you an arm and a leg because of the single channel purchase unless you convinced your doing it as a Smatv system for a apartment complex or the like.

Local channels

DN lets me sub. to local channels for $4.95/mo. I have my own receiver. Use it in my RV when I travel. Always in touch with home news that way.

Well, I just purchased a Blonder Tongue professional dual output rack mount DirecTV receiver for $9 plus shipping. This receiver sells online for well over $650.

I will see what I can pickup ITC and / or subscribe to.

I asked a friend that does some commercial installs for both Dish and Direct. He said you may not be able to use it since it probably needs to be activated on a commercial account. Let us know how it works out. Good luck!

The only freebie Directv channels are
100
200
600
which just show wither a complete list of channels or the sports schedules...

201 is the Directv version of "Dish 101"

As for the commercial thing D* may not activate it because of that

but then again I got a 311 for Dish that says "311 Commercial" on the screen and they activated it on a consumer account
