DIRECTV Transponder Map ~ Data 10/30/2024

NFL Network Red Zone is testing as a Ka Offline channel on channel 211

9551 PTNW and 620 NFLHD for Puerto Rico were removed (9552-9565 will be EverPass's Sunday Ticket, so 9551 might become a remap of Red Zone)

Targetted Gemini offer testing on 9758 replacing the targetted SPORTS offer on 9757

1104 4KTVEST (4K TV Electronic sell-through) is now live

Remapping the signficantly viewed records for the Nexstar channels in Albuquerque, Baton Rouge, Norfolk, Parkersburg, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Rapid City, Waco and Wichita Falls to the information slates.
The duplicates of KCNC and KUSA for Denver have been replaced by INFO channels telling viewers to turn to their main channel numbers

British Open Golf prep cleanup, the 9000s are now offline until they are needed to prep for US Open Tennis

The encoding error for MeTV's NOTES were fixed, the MeTV O&Os in Denver, Houston/Waco, Los Angeles, Milwaukee and Nashville are now listed as MeTV instead of independents.

Passing Gracenote's RF number updates for WCCT's subchannels in Hartford.

The duplicates of KCNC and KUSA for Denver have been replaced by INFO channels telling viewers to turn to their main channel numbers
Hopefully they can do that for the other ones as well, like Raleigh has it’s big 4 stations on Norfolk numbers (WNCN on 3, WRAL on 10, WTVD on 13, WRAZ on 43)

Not sure if KyL already stayed this before, but I notice there is now a Private Network channel on channel 9700. It has an upcoming event called 3Q DIRECTV Live in the guide, from 1pm-1:30p ET on 8/9.

In addition to the previously mentioned prep for the US Open and PTNW 9550 moving to 9700:

Remapping NewsNation and the Mission and White Knight stations to the same slide as the Nexstar owned local stations (which last night switched to a text slide instead of the looping video package), some more dispute slides in test.

9755 GIFT (Sports Pack on Us) and 9756 THANKS ($20 off for 12 months) were removed, 9758 GEMINI has been replaced by *GIFT (Sports Pack on Us)

Weigel O&Os in Chicago, NYC, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle and St. Louis now identified as MeTV stations

NFL Network Red Zone for Commercial customers testing on channel 9551 (still pointing to CINEHD 126's TID/PID, which was used for Sunday Ticket's RedZone), tweaks to the test records on 211 and 703, and tweaks to the Prime NFL channels on 9526

RIP ESPN College Extra effective 8/15, the SEC Network Alternate is also being sunset by ESPN on the same day. Some of the games previously on those channels will still be available via ESPN3, while the Raycom produced ACC RSN games it carried will now be national telecasts on The CW.

Here’s a recap of why that package sucked anyway because they never aired any teams that were ranked Why ESPN College Extra Sucks and Why Sports Bars Need It!

It’s gonna suck for the lower level college games, which may or may not bestreaming exclusively on ESPN3 (looking at ESPN’s CFB schedule) for the bars in those college towns and sportsbooks elsewhere but they don’t have to pay for it anymore.
The college football slate on the ESPN+ Business listings this fall has some better games, including the annual Oklahoma Sooners “PPV” game against SMU

They eliminated PID streams from the guide data for 6 mpeg2 SD and 10 HD LIL virtual ("significantly viewed") channels from adjoining DMAs. I haven't checked them all, but they appear to be stations that are affected by the Nexstar dispute.

Those are all indeed Nexstar dispute stations. I have watched some of them as well in the past, like WRIC and WHTM.

A fresh load of the LogoID_Library is available on the /resources slice. They July version of the LogoID_Library has also been left online for comparison. It is not obvious if there are changes.

I only spotted slides for Padres, Reds, Diamondbacks and Twins. As of tonight, nothing for the Guardians or Rangers.

Also, going thorugh the thumbnails, Pioneer PBS (KWCM Appleton for the Minneapolis DMA and KSMN Worthington for the Sioux Falls DMA) have been dead air since May 10th at around 10:06am CT when the fiberlink to their transmitter was severed by construction equipment. Luckily both DMAs have additional PBS outlets via TPT and Lakeland PBS for Minneapolis and South Dakota PBS for Sioux Falls.
Do you know if Pioneer is still off air or have they returned?

They returned to air last month.

They're not back on DIRECTV yet though because they still need to fix the fiber link to their Minneapolis receive facility.

I don't think all of these other PBS stations (the one's I've seen for myself, outside of WVIA) have been off air for that long!

Those stations are not related in any way to a local fiber cut in Minnesota.

They are far from the only PBS station that has been off air for an extended period:

KLNE (NET) was off air for about 2 months after an aircraft collided with their tower in 2005.

WACS (GPB) was off air for over a year after an EF3 tornado destroyed their tower in 2007.

KETS (Arkansas PBS) was off air for 5 months after its analog tower collapsed in 2008.

WVIA's RF 41 signal was knocked off air back in February 2010 after its transmitter building was destroyed by a fire, but luckily they were able to get an emergency STA to use WNEP's transitional RF 49 facility and interference consent from WWSI in the Philly DMA until they were able to rebuild it 2 years later.

In Puerto Rico WIPR was off air for 3 months and WMTJ was off air for 4 months after Hurricane Maria hit the island in 2017.

Most of the Lake Charles stations were knocked off air for 2 months in 2020 after Hurricanes Laura and Delta hit the city.

What we used to refer to as "Backhoe Fade" when I used to worry about Fiber Optic lines for my employer, is rare, but hard to avoid. The method we tried to use for business critical links was redundant fiber routes with no physical locations in common, but that is hard to achieve, and can be very expensive.
