SPACE.com -- NASA's Best Missions to Get High Definition Treatment

Excerpts:

NASA's greatest missions are about to get a high definition makeover by the Discovery Channel this year to commemorate the U.S. space agency's 50th anniversary.

"When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions," a miniseries that follows Discovery's popular "Planet Earth" series, will showcase 50 years of space exploration. The series includes some never-before-seen film culled from 500 hours of footage plucked from NASA's archives and carefully restored for broadcast in high definition (HD).

"When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions" will air as a six-hour special on consecutive Sundays, June 8, 15, and 27.

It just came into Dish's 9 day Guide today.

It shows Episode One as 2 hours at 9pm ET June 8th, and then an Epiosde Two that is 1 hour long at 11pm ET June 8th, with Episode One repeated later that night.

We'll see if that is changed as the week goes by, I have it set to record all "new episodes" with a High Priority...

Still has the same weird anamoly in the Guide listings, which are the same for cable (according to a poster in another forum).

Saturday, June 14th has several repeats of the 2 hour Episode One, in case anyone misses it (power failure or whatever).

Excellent documentary! Some footage is rather grainy for HD, but that's to be expected. Excellent DD sound!
