Wilt,
Do you know if the new stb software will enable discrete power codes?
If not, when do you thnk VOOM will do this?
Thank you

Discrete power codes are used on most equipments. Discrete ON and discrete OFF. Used on professional remotes, such as the Pronto, these replace toggle codes where you are not sure of the state of the machine.

Would love discrete codes for ON and OFF for my control system. Tried a video sensor on the composite out but it is always sending out voltage even if the box is in standby (it never is really off). The voltage swing from Standby to On is not large enough to use a current sensor. Looked for discrete codes on Remote Central but there are none.

bump,
would still like an answer if possible.
Wilt, do you see these if we post responses to SatellietGuys.us forum and not directly by Yahoo email?

And until the discrete codes are found, here are two possible solutions for you:

1. Don't turn the STB off at all. Just keep it on! It consumes the same amount of power whether it is on or in standby.

2. Get a Harmony remote (H688 or H659). These remotes do not need discrete codes: they remember the state of each component.
