I just moved to a new location. I've set a mast in the ground which is plumb. I've pointed the dish and get signal > 50 on 72.7 transponder 17 and on 61.5 transponders 5 and 7. I get various signals on other transponders.

The one thing I can't figure out is that on 61.5 transponder 6, the signal is 0. No amount of pointing will bring it in.

At my previous house, the same equipment was in use and all expected channels were available for viewing.

I'd appreciate any ideas that may yield signal from transponder 6.

Thanks!

There is but one channel on transponder 6 on 61.5. That is the 4K channel (540). There is no signal on it at the moment. You might want to check it on Saturday when there will be some programming.

I’ve actually looked a little further. I am on the Western ARC and my channel 540 is on 110, transponder 11. While there is no programming there I am able to see signal when I look at the transponder. It might help if you told us what equipment you have. Is it a Hopper 3? How are you looking for the signal?

I suppose some more details would be helpful.
Vip211z
Dish 1000.2 dual lnb.
Can't receive the majority (maybe all) of channels listed in the TP6 section of this page: uplink.jameslong.name/CHAN615.HTML
Channels desired include 107,108, 136, and 182
On the non-functional channels fluctuate between full signal loss and partial signal loss.

Thanks for the help.

Did you move to somewhere in the same location or far from where lived previously?

So, your 211 is incapable of receiving the 4K channel 540. Your link didn't work but I found what you are talking about on James Long's site. Those are regional channels, not CONUS. You will not see them unless you are in the right area. They are probably for Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. The channels you listed are actually on the 72.7 satellite and are CONUS. The transponders are as follows: 107-19, 108-17, 136-17, 182-19.

Allright. I'll quit trying to 'work ahead'. It's clear I can't just make assumptions. The mother of all [insert choice words here].

I'll ask more simply. What might be the reason that 107 and 108 would have signal loss?

Also, something that might be of importance is that I noticed that my even transponders have little to no signal. Most evens have none. That's on both sats.

try disconnecting the cable from the back of the receiver and running a check switch, it'll go to 1 of 38 and run through 38 of 38, which resets the matrix. Then reconnect the cable and run it again. There was a similar issues a few yrs ago with even transponders on the 129 and this was the fix

I did this, but chose to save with fewer sats. No success and now have even fewer channels. Probably should not have saved....

Any other ideas to try?

After doing the check switch with the coax disconnected did you do a check switch with the coax reconnected? You must do that.

I did do a check switch with cable reconnected. That's when I saved the results.

Also, now when I go into point dish, if I tune to 61.5 the message at bottom says 'wrong sat 72.7'

Sounds like you have a bad LNBF to me, but it's hard to say without looking at it
