Dish 1000.2 issue (might be me)

I had a tripod mounted dish 1000 that had a twin and a single for the three orbitals - I say had because during a particularly windy event, the dish and the tripod did several cartwheels before it ran out of coax.

I replaced the 1000 with a 1000.2 on the same tripod. When I aim the dish with a meter on port 1 (119) and completed a check switch, all I get is modest signal on 110. [I can take my old Dish 500 and aim it first try].

I am connected to port 1 on the Dish 1000.2 to a VIP211 reciever. The other 3 ports are not connected. The check switch says 110 is OK but 119 & 129 are X'd out. I am in the Portland Oregon area.

Can someone point me in the right directions (no pun intended) ?

Clear the switch matrix on the receiver. Disconnect the satellite feed and run check switch. Connect the satellite feed and run check switch.

Now, are you sure you're getting the 3 satellites? If not, start by aiming 119 on TP11. Peak on that transponder and run check switch. Then check the signals on 110 and 129.

My settings according to the manual were: Azim.=160, Elev.=45, Skew=87. I adjusted the elevation to 46.5 and the skew to 85.5 and I'm getting better readings. The manual is off in the elevation at least by 1 degree.

when you do check switch where exactly 110 shows up on witch port? also when you are aiming dish with 1000.2 LNB make sure the 211 set to 119 sat on signal strength menu
