Just curious if my Dish 1000 is aimed to its fullest ; 110 I get 96, 119 I get 105 and 129 I get 86. Just curious if that sounds about right? I am in Iowa. My cable run is about 100', and I have combined an OTA with it. Thanks in advance!

Yes that is fully peaked, esp if you are pulling 86 on the 129, thats a really high signal strength for that sat and the 119/110 sats are right up there too, you have nothing to worry about.

OK, I just went through the tp's on 129 here is what I got: The highest was 93 on tp31, and the lowest was 61 on tp6. I had several 90's, lots of high 80's, a couple high 79's and a few 60's. I have a Dish 1000 so only have 1 dish/2 lnbs on it.

No, I am reading it off of the new VIP 622. My 301 is in a camper, so I am not sure what it reads at if I were to hook it up. That is why I am pleased with the #'s! :)

Must be the Midwest with the higher readings. Here in Minnesota i get readings of high 70's, low 80's on 129

You're correct. The West coast gets mid 70s and 80s with a dedicated D500 for 129 and other areas get similar readings but the Midwest gets better readings.

There seems to be a big difference in the signal strength on some transponders on 129 vs. some of the other other ones. This is probably due to some transponders put in boost mode to help certain parts of the country pull in the locals that just started for them where they are probably dedicating those boosted transponders to fringe areas.

My installer just came and took my old 300 dish and peaked it in for 129 and connected it to the dish 1000 minus the 129 lnb.
The best I can get on tsp 6 is 58. I get in the high 80s for the hot transponders on 129.
I gained about 5 points from the 1000 129 lnb to the 300 alone peaked in to 129.

I was told that the signal should hold better in rain with the bigger dish 300 on 129. Only time will tell.
The installer told me to look for a 22 inch dish and then I would see a bigger gain.
I live in southwest minnesota. Dave

The strengths you are getting are good. Pretty typical for picking up 3 birds on the same dish. I'm a Field Service Manager for DISH in Ohio, and that's what I'm used to seeing around here. I just upgraded to a 1000+ from a regular 1000 at my home at got 102% on the 129 transponder 19 (our locals here come on 32though I got 96%) ...and that was on a 625 receiver. The bigger reflector makes all the difference in the world.
