Scott, What does this mean?

Just a guess, but I believe it refers to mapping the HD LIL channels to their respective local channel numbers in the guide, just like they do with SD.

Perhaps, but why say only LA and NY?

Because that's all that is up there for LIL at the moment.

Okay, so there will be a new software release for each new LIL HD roll-out. Got it!

No, they're just telling you which customers are going to benefit from this. They will setup the channel flagging for each LIL so that if the customer desires, they can remap the satellite channels.

Dish 411

and

Dish ViP211

???????

Why do they always have to make things confusing

Ethernet port on the 211 and no ethernet on the 411. The 411 is or will be discontinued when they run out. The vip ethernet series of receivers will be the only ones that do both hd and sd and have ethernet for future video on demand over the internet.

Yeah, but people stuck with the 411 will have to pay another upgrade fee, if they add a use for the ethernet port and those people want that service.

Probably means your HD stations will appear as the Regular channel 2-69 (previously would do this for SD stations) if you chose the option.

OK
Either way it would be best to run some Cat5 or Cat6 to your jack so just get a jack plate with a Cat,Cable,Phone all in one.
