Dish 301 (Panny E80) recording question

When you hit the "record" button on a 301, it gives you the option of setting up a VCR to automatically record programs in the future from the program guide. You must enter a "manufatcureres code" to set it up.

I just bought a Panny E80 recorder; is there a manufacturers code for Panasonic that would make the 301 think a VCR is hooked up to it, so I could use the guide to record to the E80?

Try going through the Panasonic VCR codes on the remote for your 301. If none of those work then it looks like you may be stuck setting separate timers on the 301 and your E80. Perhaps a high-end learning remote could help with this - maybe a Pronto?

I tried to get my E80 to work via my Dishplayer 7200 and did not have any luck... so maybe the E80s use "new" codes that the Dish boxes don't know about.
