Dish 322 Problem

I am trying to activate a Dish 322 receiver. It seems to have old software, but it is "SEARCHING FOR INFORMATION"....for over 40 minutes.

What do you suggest? It is not downloading the latest software.

I have rebooted and check switch a few times.

What does RAd mean? The signal is fine. Continues to "search for information"

RAd means they will send you a new one and a box to ship the old one back. First try unplugging the receiver for 40 minutes and than pluggin it back in and see if it will find it. than give them a call

when you say it says searching for information is that when it's trying to upgrade sw or what..........or is it stuck on the 015 message acquiring the signal. either way it'll probably have to be ra'd. Unplugging the reciever for 40 minutes does nothing except for resetting it. which can be done by unplugging it for 15 seconds. try turning both tuners off for about 30 mins but leave it connected to the sat and power, this should update sw.
