No Signal 322 and Superdish

ok this is basicaly about the same problem i have already asked about im gowing to go into more detail.

I have ONE 322 receiver that is actaviated.

I have a superdish outside.

I have the dish on a Metal post that is cemented into the ground.

I need to know how to properly alighn the satlight and also if it is grounded. i had thought that the metal pole would be ground enough but now im not sure.

also is the single 322 receiver correct? is that gowing to work or do i need another receiver?. i believe im using 110 and 119.

basicaly im completely lost.

** ALSO

i believe the switch is a dp34.

and on the back of the 322 theres 2 imputs for sat 1 and 2. im running a splitter into them so i can run one line and go to both of them

that wont work. You need two lines from the DP34 switch to the 322 (one for each satellite connection)

322, Superdish, DP-34 HELP

ok i had a post already but im assuming that it was deleted.

i am running a SINGLE 322 receiver.

A DP-34 Switch.

and a Superdish. not sure on the modle of it.

i have connected the wires from the dish to the switch. I have also connected the wires from the switch to the receiver.

i ran a switch check because i wasent getting any satalight signal. but it says one of more things might not be connected right. i dont remeber the exact message because the screen cleared before i could wright it all down.

i have the satlight set to what sould be the correct areas but im not getting any signal not even a weak one.

my 322 says DP-Plus and not DP-Pro so im thinking that could be a problem but i have looked and cannot seem to find a diffrence of them.

sould i take the switch completely off and just hook up the satlight or what.

anyone have any ideas or help for me please?

From what you described, you have the system setup correctly. You should have 119 in port 1, 110 in port 2 and the third satellite is no longer used on the superdish. Then you have two cables from the 34 switch to the back of the 322 receiver. If this is your setup, you have installed it correctly.

You probably do not have the dish correctly aimed. What you will need to do is go to menu 6-1-1 and select satellite 119 and listen for the signal if you can hear it out at the dish. Remember to have the skew set correctly, then set the elevation and move the dish slowly from left to right until you hear the pitch of the meter go up. Finish by fine tuning with the elevation and lock all the bolts down tight.

ok, i rechecked everything so that im sure to have everything hooked up the way you said. this is what i now have.

i have the cables from the satlight run to the switch in the order from left to right.

far left is on the port 1 of the switch box and the so down the line.

then i ran two cables from the switch to the back of the 322 receiver.

one into the sat 1 port and one into the sat 2 port.

then i ran the check switch and its now currenlty running test 1 out of 3 on both ports 1 and 2.
and this is what i get.

Satalight Input 1
port: 1, 2, 3
satalight: conn, conn, X
trans: X, X, X
Device: Dual, Dual, N.C.
Stats: Reception Error
Switch: DP 34

Satalight Input 2
port: 1, 2, 3
satalight: conn, conn, X
trans: X, X, X
Device: Dual, Dual, N.C.
Stats: Reception Error
Switch: DP 34

Satalight input 1
stats: Connected DP34
port1: DP Dual, Good connection, No Signal
port2: DP Dual, Good connection, No Signal
port3: None, No connection

Satalight input 2
stats: Connected DP34
port1: DP Dual, Good connection, No Signal
port2: DP Dual, Good connection, No Signal
port3: None, No connection

Thats what i got from the checks and the details. so whats left? do i just need to aligh it to get signal or is there something more to do?

also it was prevsouly hooked to a dish 500 i do believe. and no switch. dose that affect anything?

and also how to i exactly know how to set the elevation and the skew of the dish? because i have it on a pole thats in the ground but wouldnt that affect the evelvation setting depending on the poles height?

and i tryed to use a online caculator for finding the correct skew and such but it dosent really wont to work right for me. maby im using it wrong?

so which is it? This setup or the original one you mentioned where you were using the splitter with a DP34 which can't...you need two lines from the switch to the receiver
