Dish 500 Pro adding another receiver

Hello, I have a question regarding adding another receiver to my system. Would I be able to just run coax to the new receiver or will I need a switch? I have a twin LNB, and two receivers connected already. Any help would be appreciated.

The Twin only directly supports 2 receivers, so you would need to add a switch or replace the Twin with a DP Quad.

What receivers do you have now? You could replace one of them with a dual-tuner/dual-output model. That would require either adding a DP34 switch or replacing the DP Twin with a DishPro Plus Twin. If you connect the receiver to a phone line, the addl outlet fee is waived and you can have 3 rooms for the price of 2.

Can I use a DiSEqC switch or would I have to use a more complex video switch? I have a 4x1 DiSEqc switch. If I able to use the 4x1 how do I configure it?

Adding a DP34 switch will let you run 4 single tuners, 2 dual tuners, or 1 dual and 2 singles.
