Got a couple questions about the new 54 remote, if anyone has one right now.

First, since it only has 1 power button at the top, does this turn off both the TV and the receiver when you press it, or does it only turn off the receiver and then you have to switch to the TV input on the side of the remote to turn off the TV itself?

And second, is there a way to perform a search without using voice commands, like on the 52, where it has that magnifying glass button at the top-right under the guide button?

It turns off both. The receiver will go into a 5 minute countdown, so if you t urn the TV back on right away, you'll see a grey screen counting down. Just hit the Select button to wake it back up

You can also hit the mic button, then select (or options) to open the search window up

That 5 minute countdown will keep your buffer until the 5 minutes have elapsed and the receiver has gone into standby. So if you press the power button by mistake you will be able to press it again and still be able to skip backward and forward on the program you were watching.

Ah ok perfect. Thanks for the heads-up! I was hoping Dish would come out with something like this, similar to the newer DirecTV remotes where one power button turned both the TV and receiver on and off. I'll have to grab one of them then. :)
