Just got a new Samsung TV and 612 HD receiver.

I set the TV to 16:9 and the receiver to 16:9. I get bad horizontal overscan on HD channels. I tried adjusting the picture, using the Samsung adjustments. NO GO! Picture info shows HD:stretch.

Called Samsung. After a long conversation with a tech?, he said the problem was with the provider or the sat box, and I should contact them, as there is no way to adjust the horizontal overscan on the TV.

I have a 622 receiver on my Mitsubishi 62" and have no problems.

Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks,

Thank all of you very much. It was indeed the "stretch" function on the 612. I did not know there was such a function available. Never had occasion to use it with my Mitsubishi.

Again, thank you all for your help.
