Hello all I'm glad to be here... :) I had a question for a setup. I just got a 921 HD IRD online the other day and i was wondering what type of setup can i do using my Dish500 "DishPro" a Dish 1000.2 and a 121 Superdish Satellites? Can i get several setups? or should i just stick to my 1000.2? I wanted more variety when it came to HD and international channels...:D I heard that i can use both my SuperDish and 1000.2 to get 110 119 121 129 118.7 and 61.5 is that true? and will my box pick them up and what type of switch do i need?

Thanks!

How how would i set it up with the switches? What satellites should i use? 500, 1000.2, 121 SD and would my PVR501 and PVR921 and 301 IRD read the 5 sat's as well?

You can find many scenarios in D500/D1K/D1K2/DPP44 manuals.
As to 5 sats, you'll need add DPP21 for EACH sat tuner input plus dedicated switch for replicate signal from 5th sat.

You need to be more specific. What packages do you seek?

No it is not. The Superdish gives you 110W, 119W and 121W. The Dish1000.2 gives you 110W,119W and 129W. The Dish500 can give you any one of those or 61.5W.
and will my box pick them up and what type of switch do i need?
Your box will pick them up if and only if you subscribe to them. The switch you need depends on the programming that you subscribe to.

What programming do you want?

Note that the 921 is not capable of receiving MPEG4 or "ViP flagged" content.

Y

Note that the 921 is not capable of receiving MPEG4 or "ViP flagged" content.

What does "VIP flaged" mean? And i tought that the 921 did pick up mpeg4?

Also....

If i use my dish 500 for sat 61.5 and my 1000.2 for the 110 119 and 129 is that ok? What swithces would i need and how would i configure them... Im sorry for the million questions but im kind of clueless when it comes to to DISH...

Again, that depends on where you live and what programming you subscribe to.

When you subscribe, Dish Network will see that you get everything you need.

Dish Network programming and equipment is a consumer product. You don't have to know a lot about it to enjoy it. All you really need is view of the Southern sky from a residence in the United States.

Yes, that configuration will work. With a 1000.2, you do not need any additional switches. The 1000.2 triple LNB has the switch built in and you would point the 500 to 61.5 and run that cable to the "LNB IN" (4th) port on the 1000.2 LNB.

If you do install a switch, the built in switch and the "LNB IN" port in the 1000.2 LNB is deactivated. The three output ports to your receiver are no longer combined either and Port 1 = 119, Port 2 = 110 and Port 3 = 129.

Hi, I have a DVR921 but no instructions with it. Can anyone point me to a location for the user manual. Regards, Coldish

I should add that the Dish 921 cannot be added as a HD receiver. It can be used as an SD DVR and probably supports HD OTA, but no new HD subscriptions.
