Thanks Simon. I know that there are several types of diplexers and currently I'm using the cheap one (40-2150). My plan is to get rid of my roof antenna and use one of the diplexer input for the satellite cable (from the switch) and the other input for the local CATV. Do you see any reason why I should upgrade my diplexers or the cheap one is OK?

No idea what you mean by "cheap one".
I won't tell you what we pay for ours, but they don't cost much. In fact, I'll sell you all you want for $3 each, minimum 2, shipping included.
It's a good idea to use a matched pair (same make & model).
Not sure what you mean by "40-2150". If referring to frequencies, what you need is: OTA port: 0-900MHz, Satellite port: 950-2150MHz. OTA can have a lower high limit, a higher low limit (up to 40MHz) and the satellite side can be wider (lower low, higher high).

Thanks again. Searching the internet I found diplexers from 3 to 17 bucks in the same store. The US$17.00 looks bigger but also has 2 IN and 1 OUT . My question was if I need the fancy one or any diplexer can combine/separate CATV/satellite. I will need 8 pieces and will go for the 3 bucks.
You should avoid diplexing the line if it also carries cable internet service. If it's only for TV then that's ok.
It depends what frequency the cble internet is being sent on. I have never had an issue diplexing cable internet and satellite in Washington. I have heard that it will NEVER work in Texas though...???
