Dish Bankruptcy - Business as Usual

My understanding is Echostar is to purchase the assets of Dish Wireless as part of this Chapter 11 filing, along with discharging the debt it owes on essentially all the leases it has with landlords the towers are on.
That's my understanding as well, but I don't consider that a sale of assets. I see it more as a transfer of assets within the same corporate structure. Obviously there would be nothing for Charlie to "buy back" in this instance since he in effect already owns it.

Oh sure, I get that they can be outbid. Am I wrong the the main goal here is to discharge what is due on the leases for the towers? And if that is discharged, how do those assets have any value? Renegotiate new leases?
Yes - they are attempting to walk away from the leases.

But, the tower companies requested and got time to dig through the books.
They allege that significant wireless assets were moved to EchoStar in a preplanned effort to remove them from control of the bankruptcy court, leaving little for the tower companies to fight over.
If, true, the tower companies will want those $$$ returned for disbursement in the Dish Wireless bankruptcy. And, it is a lot of money.

I truly hope the Bankruptcy Judge prevents Charlie from buying back the smoldering remains of Dish Network. Heck it was his miss management that created all the problems.

It's bad enough many companies he made contracts will get screwed in the Dish bankruptcy. It will be a true travesty if the Judge allows him to buy back his defunct company just to be in a position to do it again, hopefully the Judge will think about the employees that are getting screwed over.. Charlie just needs to take his 16+ Billion dollars and go away permanently.

And a follow up and a last shot by Dish, my account was paid up through the 12 of July but they disconnected me a week early, it really didn't make a difference because I already had YoutubeTV up and running. My honest opinion between the two, YoutubeTV is a much better value about the only downside is the interface using LG smart TV's and remotes, its a bit clunky and takes a little bit of a learning curve.

But I fixed this too, Purchased a cheap AMAZON firestick Max, side loaded an app into it that allows YoutubeTV to be loaded and on screen and bypasses all ads when the TV is turned on and it goes right to the Guide, perfect, from their I can do almost everything I could do with Dish, easy, clean and fast! This can also be done with a TV Cube. I am so glad Dish's prices went through the roof and the fact I had old receivers that were constantly failing or I might not have made the leap to an alternative and more cost effective entertainment system.

Those of you here who are on the fence about making a change, YoutubeTV offers a free trial, take advantage of it and test drive, you might be surprised.
Charlie is not hanging his spurs up just yet. Maybe Elon will bail him out elon seems to be upto something having alot of interest in dish.

Dish and Echostar are the same company.
That is the argument the Tower companies are making. It's all one company.

In these fights, the legal beagles call it piercing the veil between two associated companies.

If they can show that EchoStar was making decisions selling or transferring Dish Wireless assets to Echostar, the judge will likely determine those assets belong to the bankrupt Dish Wireless.

Don't lose sight of the fact that this is a prepackaged reorganization plan approved by 88% of the bond holders. Once the expected court approval is in place, the plan can move forward.

DISH was pushing subs over to starlink since they knew this was coming.
They started losing subscribers well before that-

Late 2023: Over 1 million subscribers
