Plasma was absolutely fantastic, I retired my LG last year (25 years old) when the control board died and couldn't find another. The OLED replacement is good and much bigger and has a bunch of HMDI ports (no more DVI converters)Do people keep them till they die?
I cycle mine out every three years or so.
Someone gets a deal on a still REALLY good tv, I get a discount on a better one.
I'm not sure how long TVs would last now tbh, my last plasma I sold was at least a decade ago. Probably more.
Those however, I did love them. The tech simply passed them by.
But its true the blacks might not be quite as good but at least I don't need to crank up the air in that room anymore.
