Dish Differences???

What is the difference(s) (other than the obvious shape) between a small round dish vs. an elliptical dish?

Also does EVERY LNB (LNBF?) have bth a H and a V connection point for this type dish?

Last Q...will either type dish receive Ku band?

the elliptical shape is supposed to be better at rejecting adjacent satellite interference. (as in the old primestar ellipticals) Whether thats a problem or not at KU frequencies I really don't know. They usually pull in a pretty good signal though, I have 2 of them, one in use.
Far as the feedhorn/lnb, the older primestars had those with sep H and V ports. You can buy a replacement lnbf with just one port that does it own internal H/V switching. Some brands even have a linear side for reg KU, and a circular side for the DBS satellites, though there isn't much on them that isn't scrambled.. And yes either of those dishes will do KU, thats what they were designed for.
