I heard that AT&T was going to merge with Verizon, but then DirecTV was going to merge with Dish, then HBO was going to be bought by FOX, but then be traded to Disney for ownership of ABC and ESPN. FOX was going to become FOX Red and ABC was going to become FOX Blue, all in homage to the NBC Red and NBC Blue networks of the radio days, then ESPN was going to be traded to Comcast, who also is buying all of Dish's cellular spectrum in a separate deal, for ownership of NBC and Universal properties. Xfinity Mobile will become a prime competitor to the newly merged AT&T/Verizon. All the while, Cinemax is being retained by the newly merged AT&T/Verizon, who is making it a prime competitor to HBO, Showtime, Starz, and EPIX. So Dish will get back HBO in a new deal with Disney, but Cinemax will remain off Dish. Finally, AT&T U-Verse is also merging with Dish to become Dish Cable Primestar, while the merged Dish and DirecTV becomes Dish Satellite Primestar.
