western mass
had an install for a 1000.4 dish scheduled today.tech showed up and said no way to get a line of sight, asked to get 1000.2 and said he cannot do it here(western mass).and left after about 5 minutes.now i do receive 61.5 so how much harder is it to point a 1000.4 to get 72.7 and 77.and why can they not put up 1000.2 here.

Was a tree or something in the way?
You can't get a 1000.2 Dish because the 129 is too low on the horizon in the northeastern USA.

well the tech said there were tree issues with the eastern arc dish, but if i have 61.5 already how much harder is it to get 72.7.and this was after about and hour long phone call with dish trying to tell me that the best they could do for me was a repoint of my 61.5(not willing to lose my rsn for that).so i guess i will just wait and see if they get the other sat to the 61.5 location and see if they add any more hd to it.

The 1k4 dish needs a lot of space in order to get all 3 sats. 15.5 degrees. so if the trees are in the wrong place it is easy to have NLOS on a 1k4. I am not sure that dish has ever used 129 for anything in the northeast. It is to low in the sky.

I've never seen a setup in my location with a 129 setup that I know.
I've seen SuperDishes, But around here they were for 105,110,and 119 orbital locations. I would susspect thats the old setup for New England as well.

What about doing a 2-500 dishs'. One for 110, 119 and the other for 61.5. That would give you all the HD from 129. I'm not sure where your locals are, but here in WI, it is a common configuration.

This is what so many have been complaining about. The latest HD was added to 129 and 72.7 and not to 61.5. Thus they would not be getting all the HD. There seem to be some 2-dish solutions depending on where your locals are.

Locals on 61.5: especially New England, get a 1000.4 and you are done. It may need a second dish if your SD or HD locals are on 110 119 or 129, point a Dish 500 there.

Locals on 129 110 or 119 especially HD: plan A 1000.2 and you are done. Plan B get a 1000.4 and a Dish 500 for the HD or SD, point it at that.

Or some variant of these.
