The yule log/fireplace/bonfire programming is typical of local stations and cable networks; however, DISH decided to get in the game and place "DISH Holiday Fireplace" on channel 456, which is normally used for pay-per-view sporting events.

I actually saw it on 102...both SD & HD look the same to me; at least HD 102 was certainly NOT widescreen.
I guess they decided it would be more realistic to provide (just) the actual crackling of a real fireplace instead...& for US to supply the music.
It may be a little terrifying if your screen is much larger than 50".

Well while I noticed a couple less (cable) stations having "yule logs" this year (UP is one that had one last year, but not this year) I still have plenty to choose from, since I have the superstations. The 3 CW (Tribune) supers have them, but they're all different; the music that comes on KTLA's log is from a simulcast w/KOST-FM. WGN-Chicago (the local) I get has one, & OTA sub Antenna TV had one early this AM as well.
if you live in the DFW, KTXA has a Yule Log fireplace on it right now, but that will end at 3 PM CT.
Don't tell a certain twangy music fan this.
I heard hes enjoying it, so I am thinking about cashing in a few gift cards and extending it for him.
