Dish is offering me a 622 for free if I turn over my 942

A rep called today and offered me a leased 622 for 199.00 , with a 199.00 credit if I turn in my 700.00 942 that I own. Ouch!!!!! Am I crazy for wanting to hold on to my 942. I've noticed that the price for 942's on ebay is as low as 250.00. I complained to the rep about being on the wrong side of 500.00 with the deal he offered. He talked to his supervisor and told me that I could keep my 942 and just pay them 199.00 for the leased 622. I just don't see a lot of compelling content in mpeg 4 right now. But I'm wondering if now is the time to jump ship on my 942 before it's a doorstop. Thanks in advance for your advice.

It will be sometime before the 942 become a door stop...hold out a lil longer...I wouldnt be suprised if in the near future the offer you a one to one swop for free that you will own.

make that at least two. i received a call from dish. $199.00 to lease a 622 and a $199.00 credit when i return my 942.

May we say "Watch Out" if the cold caller asks for a credit card number. Dish will when called but you made the call.

just called dishnet they denied calling me and the $200 offer and no one can actually tell me the total fees for this unit; dvr fee/ the lease fee/the hd enable fee/ the dual tuner phone fee /the additional outlet fee/ the just becuse fee each about $5.00 total $25.00 in fees and you think uncle sams bad! then were still paying $200 to barrow a reciver just think if something were to happen to it! the full retail of about a thousand dollars $1,000.00!!!

I to was offered the deal of a lease 942 for a 622. Im not in a hurry but they also added a $100 credit on top of the offer. We'll see if that shows up. The caller also said my monthly bill will only increase$2/mth. I don't believe that but went ahead with the offer and they scheduled a switch out on the 12th. Time will tell.
