Hello. Quickly my backround. I have hooked up in my house DTV triple HD sat. I have 3 tivos one is HD and 2 more regular rca IRDS. I used a 5x8 turk multiswitch. I did the install myself. So what I am saying is I basically know what I am doing and have a good feel for it.

Ok my question. I am trying to help a friend with his dishnetwork. He already has 4 irds hookedup. He wants to add a 5th one. I can only find 1 connection in the basement. It seems to me the other 3 go right to each room. What needs to be done. Can I just add a multiswitch to the one connection that I can see. Help please.

I don't really understand fully what you are talking about with the 1 connection in the basement and the other 3 going to each room. Sorry

If you can give more info I can help you

What type of Dish does he have?

One thing for SURE, you can NOT use the D* multi-switches you're familiar with.

We need to know EVERYTHING about what he's got in order to help you.

Dish type, LNB type, switch type.

Sounds like he has a quad and each receiver has a line run to it. Looks like a couple of switches are going to be needed.
