Dish Network 5G Internet?

Dude thats not even 40 million people....lots of obstructions the farther north you go!
You don't understand what coverage means
It means you have a presence..not that people can receive your signal..att,verizon and T-Mobile have multiple holes to fill..especially in rural areas

I don't what other have in their area. I called and was told 18 down in my area (Sames as ATT) Think the price was $50 or so (same as ATT) It was coming from Earthlink but Dish has made it better and faster for its customers :)

Why would, without physically looking, company A know company B is leasing space on a tower they are using from company C?

Any idea how many locations/towers ATT or V are using nationwide?
When we owned our mountaintop with a leased tower site, the same tower service company people were often there upgrading or maintaining equipment for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon. The three services also had to work together to sort out licensing and tower positions. Even if Dish felt some need to keep their tower locations secret, I suspect word would get around soon enough anyway.

Same here on our towers. It’s the same company doing all the installs and maintenance no matter the company.

For them it’s just doing the job that was ordered.

Exactly... The only time we saw different crews was when they came to service the various government communications antennas on the tower. Oddly, the few times anyone came to work on the government satellite dish next to the tower, they came with an armed escort. We joked that maybe they were afraid of the bears that wandered through on occasion. :)

  • Haha

You remind me of a property we almost bought. Steep hill behind it. Two tower clusters on top. Both fenced, one with small cinder block building. We’re told not to go too near that one, don’t loiter there- and DON’T challenge or even acknowledge the presence of anyone going to that spot, even through our property.

In places where deployment is close at hand and building permits are publicly available, it's perfectly possible to make a map showing where Dish Wireless will be. For example, I made this map for myself of Chesterfield County, VA.

I've only been by the sites labeled 1 and 3 but Dish equipment is on both of them already. It certainly looks like a real build-out to me.

EDIT: If interested, here are pictures I took of Tower #1:

Yup same with our tower, we have FAA (and other Federal Agencies) using the tower.
I know that for me to first go up there, I needed fingerprints and a background check. The federal stuff is in its own shed which I can not access. (And I am ok with that) :)

Samsung to deliver fully-virtualized and O-RAN-compliant 5G solutions to support DISH Wireless' advance of America's First Smart Network™
SEOUL, Korea and LITTLETON, Colo., May 3, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and DISH Network Corporation (NYSE: DISH) announce that Samsung Electronics was selected for the deployment of 5G Open Radio Access Network solutions across DISH Wireless' SMART 5G™ network. Per the multi-year agreement, the companies will collaborate to deploy Samsung's 5G O-RAN-compliant virtualized RAN (vRAN) solutions and radio units in markets across the U.S., supporting DISH's 5G commercial services.
Samsung
"Samsung's 5G solutions will play an integral role in our network expansion, giving us the flexibility to deploy our cloud-native network with software-based solutions that support advanced services and operational scalability," said John Swieringa, president and chief operating officer, DISH Wireless. "We look forward to working with Samsung, whose industry leadership in vRAN and O-RAN innovation will help to support our vision of delivering open, interoperable cloud-based 5G services to consumers and enterprises across the U.S."

"Samsung is excited to join this 5G journey with DISH, a pioneer in bringing new experiences to households and businesses around the country, leveraging openness and virtualization that sit at the heart of network evolution," said Mark Louison, executive vice president and head of the Networks Business, Samsung Electronics America. Samsung Networks Business will supply DISH Wireless with its 5G and RAN solutions, vRAN software and a variety of O-RAN compliant radio units, including Massive MIMO radios. Samsung's vRAN can operate on any commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) server, while still delivering performance on par with traditional hardware-based equipment. With its cloud-native architecture, DISH's Open RAN deployment is based on open interfaces, allowing for multi-vendor interoperability and various deployment scenarios. The Samsung radios will also support all of DISH's Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex (TDD) spectrum bands (including n71, n29, n66, n70, n48 and n77).

DISH and Samsung's collaboration will extend to retail wireless customers, providing them with leading-edge 5G devices today and in the future, connecting customers to DISH Wireless' SMART 5G™ network.

I have to do this the old fashion way. I found two towers close to me (1 mile & 2 mile). I think there may be third tower getting ready about 3 miles away. There is a rolled up cable for Cox close by and there is something covered up in the fenced in area.

At first I was taking pictures and posting them on Cellmapper to confirm. Where I can access the fenced in area I look at the electric meters that can be seen outside the fencing. There are three towers I can't access. One has a fence with gate just off the road. The other two are on top of a high hill with a dirt road leading up to the tower. If it quits raining I may try to drive up there. There were reports of several towers in the Bentonville area that I am close to which is the area I hope I will be included in that are scheduled to be turned on by June 14th.

I forgot to mention, they use AT&T old failing copper lines....This may be something totally different than what has been mention here

Wouldn't it be ironic if all these dish 5g towers would cause interference on c band dishes?.. but alas..wrong frequencies charlie

Wife & I have the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 512GB with Verizon. Awesome smartphone. We wanted the 1TB model but Verizon at the time we got ours didn’t stock them.
