Dish network smart card upgrade

Over at the DBS forums they say that the new dish smart cards are are slowly being sent out to subscribers is this true? If so How will Prepaid customer get them?

I still don't understand why Scott closed that thread. If they're gonna begin doing the smart cards replacement soon a lot of people will come looking for help on how to do it or will want to know if there is some kind of schedule.

OH and dont forget all those people that "MOVED" .

It should be no different than the last card swap. When it is your turn the cards will appear in the mail with instructions on how to do the swap. If you don't get the new cards because of no valid address your signal will eventually go off and you will have to call DISH with a correct address and they will send you updated cards. Until you lose your signal you won't know you were missed.

For legit customers it dont matter, they will send the cards to your billing address.

For pre paid folks when you call to activate your new pre paid card they will need to send you a new smartcard for your IRD (depending on the programming package you are renewing)
