My dish account is on pause (for $5/month). I'm in the process of looking for a new house and in a rental. Before I unpack my 722, will I be able to use my 722 for OTA guide/TV, DVR and watch DVR's shows while on pause?

You can access the dvr yes. But other things I don't know.

Another option may be adding the Welcome Pack for $14.99/mo.

I think Outdoor Sports ($3/mo) and Encore ($5/mo) work on the Welcome Pack. I would think premiums do as well, but I am not sure about the others.
