Dish Problem...HELP!!!!

if, as has been theorized, the dish has been blown or otherwise moved out of alignment, I guess you couldn't make it any worse by going out there and fiddling with it, see if it will push to left or right. Is the dish on the roof or on a pole? If it's on a pole it's possible kids have been fiddling with it.

It's on a pole. I tried to move it a little, bit it doesn't move much,it's pretty tight. The thing that aims at the dish, (don't know the technical term for it..lol.) it was very loose. Could that be what's wrong with it?

make sure that the lnb is completely pushed into the Y-adapter, if the dish feels like it is really tight on the pole that could very well be the problem.. the LNB shouldnt be loose at all...

and as far as service goes... if you call a nationwide 1-800 number, they have to put in the work order, and then they have to send it to the local retailer, DNSC, ect, then they give them a day or two to accept the work order, if they are too busy, or cant get to it, they reject it and send it to the next retailer... so they have to schedule the installs a fews days in advance to give themselves time to get someone scheduled to do the work.
if you call the local cable company, you are usually talking to a local company that knows what they have for the next day or two. Same if you call a local retailer, they should be able to get out in a day or two.

Thanks all.......I just wanted to make sure there was nothing that I could do,although I probably couldn't have done it anyway...LOL. My brother has someone coming to look at it Tuesday and if they can't fix it, Dish Network will be here Thursday. Thanks everyone!!!!:) :)

One thing you may want to try (or have the person who is coming today try) is to disconnect your coaxial from your receiver for 30 seconds, reattach and do a check switch. I had an 811 receiver that wouldn't recognize the switch connections and by disconnecting the coaxial, it seemed to start the process over and I would get a signal.

Anyway, it worked for me...

y'all she stated and I quote, "The thing that aims at the dish, (don't know the technical term for it..lol.) it was very loose." let see what comes out of her service call first and then go futher. no sense in beating a dead horse at the moment.

Yay, It's fixed!!!!!....They said that it had to aligned, that was what was wrong with it. They also tightened the lnb thing. They had to lower the dish because they said trees were in the way. It's weird that it happened right after the storm and the dish was really tight, guess it moved just enough, huh? Just wanted to let ya'll know and thanks to everyone!!!!:) :)
