Was wondering if I can use a DTV Slimline or DTV International 36" dish for viewing the chinese channels? Thanks!

the Int'l 36" dish will work just fine

Thanks for the quick reply. So I take it the Slimline is completely out of the question? I was hoping for a smaller footprint.

The slimline? Like the slim version of a AT9?

If so, no. There is no KU Band LNB's on those. The 36" dish has a KU Band LNB on it

no, it advertises KA band which is different (different frequrencies)

If you have one of those antenna and want to press it into service, that's one thing.
If you are going to buy one and use it for FTA, I think that'd be regarded as a bad idea, based on those prices.

I'm referring to International or GainMaster models, only.
The GainMaster would need a new LNB.
The International appears to have one linear LNB with it.
But for $150, there are probably much better combinations.
