Dish remote lights up for no reason

For the past year or so, I've noticed my Hopper remote will light on and off for about 10 minutes between 2:30 and 3:00am for no reason. I don't know if this is happening every day, but it happens often. I've tested the remote by shaking the table it's on to force the light to come on, but it doesn't. The only way I can make it come on is to physically pick it up and shake it. But, in the middle of the night, the remote will, willy-nilly, come on by itself. Does anyone know why this happens? Is this something to be concerned about?

Hello, DoodleBug. This definitely does not sound like a normal occurrence with the backlighting of the remote. The function could be worn out, causing it to light up on its own. Perhaps the remote is getting new software. The time is around the timing of the nightly Hopper updates.

Oh, I've noticed it quite a bit. I have one in the bedroom and it will light up for about 5 seconds all alone while sitting on the bed, untouched, multiple times in one night, I've just started to ignore it.
