They removed the charges. They said tech support made a mistake when they shipped them. They shipped them as an RMA for me to return the old cards. Well my receivers have built in cards, no cards to return, so the system charged me for them. But, of course if I did not call and complain it would never have been fixed and autobilled.

Mike, I am glad that the charges were reversed. It seems like we have to be very careful with all our bills these days.

I checked today and the charges were reversed in the overnight update. I cannot believe the amount of hassel I went through with this whole process.

So if you have an old box with a yellow card in it, then you can't receive or order porn now?

So all these people with these hacked yellow Dish smart cards are not going to be able to see anything after the switchover either right? So this means "the local guy" who programs your yellow cards won't be much of use anymore? LOL

Aww... sad day.

Well, that is the goal to get rid of all the hacked systems out there.

I have been told that if they send out new replacement cards, the previous replacement cards will be disabled at some point.

I'm not happy about it either, as it was a PITA to change the first set. I'm not looking forward to swapping to the second they sent a few weeks later.

No problem. But, I am no internet genius.

I'm just the regular kind of genius.

Dish already has another card that they plan on going with at the end of the year if what I read in a thread on this site in the past was true. I have been reading that there is no true fix, that the only thing they are doing is some type of card sharing or something like that which requires a broadband connection.

Any site claiming to have hacked Dish or Bev is a scam to steal your money or is a "card sharing via the internet" method which is a good way to get yourself charged with signal piracy. N3 encryption has not been hacked.

the site that mentioned it doesn't take cash.. just offer up roms.. I didn't bother checking bux I bet the roms offered are only the HD ones because all the hackers who do the coding are already on HD now.. so all the old SD boxes are gonna start showing up on ebay.. lol.. good for those still into FTA..

Correct. The European version has been secure for over two years now. All the FTA sites continue to feed their subscribers with optimistic crap, so they can continue to sell receivers. When the Dish Network card swap is complete, the joke will be on them.

I don't know much about encryption but I found a site that is selling a device that they claimed is currently working for N3. It's not a receiver but a device. Sounds to me that N3 has been hacked in some way.

It has not.

As stated above, it is a ripoff scheme (that illegal FTAers fall for quite easily).

Can I use a Directv Dish as a 61.5 wing?

Are you in Los Angeles? Is NBC down?
